Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis spoke to the media and expressed grief on her demise. He said in a video shared by ANI, "Pure bharat ke liye aur Vishwa ke sangeet premiyon ke bohot hi dukh ki bela hai. Sabse versatile artist ke roop mein jinko jaana gaya, aisi Asha tai inka dukhad nidhan hua hai. Bharat ke itihaas mein unhone joh sangeet ki seva ki hai, Mangeshkar Parivar ne joh sangeet ki seva ki hai. Lata did ke roop mein humne sangeet ka pehla tara lupt hote dekha aur ab doosra taara bhi lupt hua hai uska mujhe dukh hai. Apne 90ve janmdin par teen ghanta gaane wali pehli gayika hai. RD Burman ji aur unhone sangeet ko alag zone mein pahunchane ka kaam kiya aur aisi koi bhasha nai hai bharat ki jismein unhone gaane na gaaye ho. Aisi koi bhasha nai hai bharat ki jismein unhone gaaya nai ho.
12,000 se zyada gaane, 20 se zyada bhasha mein gaaye. Aisi gaayika jinke suron mein Parmeshwar baste the, unka chala jaana, yeh bharat ke liye, hum sabhi ke liye haani hai. Unke parivaar ke dukh mein hum sab sammilit hai. (This is a moment of grief for music enthusiasts across India and the entire world. She was known as the most versatile artist. Her service to music, the service to music by the Mangeshkar family - we saw the demise of Lata didi, and today we see this. We are all sad...This is a great loss to all of us, we stand with the bereaved family."
