Maheep Kapoor reveals daughter Shanaya Kapoor convinced her to join 'Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives'; Sanjay Kapoor warned her about trolls

Sanjay Kapoor’s wife, Maheep Kapoor, who was recently seen in 'Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives', shared that she agreed to be on the show due to her daughter, actor Shanaya Kapoor. She added that Shanaya convinced her to be a part of the OTT show.

Maheep recalled how Karan Johar proposed the idea of a show featuring her during a flight. She initially thought he was joking but eventually found herself hesitating. As a middle-aged woman settled into her daily life with her children, work, and gym routine, she questioned whether she truly wanted to step into the spotlight. However, her kids, Shanaya and Jahaan, encouraged her, emphasizing the unique opportunity to work with Netflix and Dharma Productions.

“It was both my kids who gave me the confidence. Both Shanaya and Jahaan sat me down and said it was Netflix and Dharma, and that I was in such good hands. They asked how I could say no when an opportunity like this had knocked at my door. So, it was them who gave me the go-ahead, telling me, ‘You live once, just go do it,’” Maheep shared in an interview with India Today.

When asked about how her husband, actor Sanjay Kapoor, reacted to the offer, she said, “Sanjay honestly had just one thing to tell me, and that was, ‘Don’t come running to me and sit on my head when all the trolling happens, if at all. Be prepared.’” Sanjay wanted her to be ready for the negative comments she might receive online.

Sanjay Kapoor gave her a stark warning that if the show didn’t succeed or if she faced backlash online, she shouldn’t rely on him for support and should be prepared to handle it herself. Maheep explained that this honesty initially made her pause, but she ultimately found confidence in the supportive environment provided by Dharma Productions, Karan Johar, and her close friends on the show , Bhavana Pandey, Neelam Kothari, and Seema Khan. Knowing she wasn’t alone gave her the courage to take the leap, reassured that they would stand by each other if anything went wrong.
