Anil Mehta, aged 62, was found dead in the premises of Ayesha Manor in Bandra, Mumbai. A post-mortem was being conducted at Bandra’s Bhabha Hospital and News18 revealed that he passed away due to "multiple injuries". Malaika released a statement expressing profound grief over her father's demise, she shared, "We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support and respect."
Several celebrities visited Malaika's residence to offer their condolences. Malaika's former husband, actor and producer Arbaaz Khan, was the first to arrive, followed by his parents Salim and Salma Khan, his brother Sohail and former wife Seema Sajdeh. Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Ananya Panday, and Chunky Panday were among the others who arrived at the residence to pay their respects.
