'Mardaani 3' box office collections day 3: Rani Mukerji film grows well; Crosses Rs 17 crore mark
'Mardaani 3' is doing well at the box office and day 3 numbers show a good rise. After performing nicely on the first two days the film picked up more on Sunday.
Mardaani 3 Movie Review
Reports from the Sacnilk website says that the movie made around Rs 7.25 crore India net on day 3 and this helped the total go up to Rs 17.50 crore.
Reportedly the day 1 collection was Rs 4 crore. Day 2 was Rs 6.25 crore and day 3 early estimates are Rs 7.25 crore. Day 2 already showed a big jump of 56.25%, and now day 3 added even more weight.
On Sunday, the film had an overall 33.29% occupancy in Hindi. Morning shows were at 13.23%, afternoon at 37.04%, evening at 49.80% and night shows at 33.10%. These numbers show that people mostly came in the afternoon and evening. Evening shows were the strongest, almost touching 50% which is a good sign for day 3.
The film stars Rani Mukerji, Janki Bodiwala, and Mallika Prasad in important roles. It is directed by Abhiraj Minawala. Many people came mainly to see Rani Mukerji as Shivani Shivaji Roy again because she has played this tough cop role in a strong way in the earlier parts too. People who watched the movie said the performances are solid and hold the film together even when the story slows down in some parts.
ETimes review shared a clear view about the film. It said, "The first half is engaging and moves at a brisk pace as Shivani goes after the abductors, who double-cross Amma, and then to the latter. The narrative loses some spark post-interval when the pace slackens, and the story moves into a familiar territory. While there are some clichés and predictable plot twists in the first half as well, they become more pronounced later on. Dialogues about the Goddess being born every now and then to end the atrocities against girls and women add to the tropes. The astute police work and crime-solving is better in the first half, but the final payoff does not live up to expectations once the evil racket is revealed. It’s an international conspiracy that feels too easily solved."
The good weekend numbers show that the film has enough pull. If word of mouth stays steady, 'Mardaani 3' may continue to bring in good numbers in the coming days.
