Mohit Chauhan has landed himself in a

legal trouble

as an

event management company

in the US is planning to take legal action against him for reneging on a contract three times to perform there.

Inc are also demanding half a million US dollars (Rs 3.18 crore) in compensation and are also planning legal proceedings against the singer both in India and the US.

However, Chauhan's management refuted the allegations and blamed the US company instead. In a statement sent out to a leading daily, the representatives from the company said, "These allegations are baseless and with mala fide intentions. The company breached their contract with us three times. Despite non-performance of their contractual obligations, we tried to accommodate them every time, yet they were unable to fulfill the terms of contract. We have suffered immensely both financially and professionally because we were unable to take up other concerts and other professional engagements due to these people."
