Nagarjuna's wife Amala Akkineni once reacted to his rumoured affair with Tabu: 'I have 100 percent faith in my husband...'

Nagarjuna’s son, Akhil Akkineni, recently married businesswoman Zainab Ravdjee in Hyderabad, bringing the spotlight back on the veteran actor. Over the years, Nagarjuna has often made headlines—be it for his successful films or his personal life.

The veteran actor has been married twice. He is currently married to actress Amala Akkineni. However, despite being married, he was linked to Bollywood actress Tabu for several years. Their close bond sparked rumours of a long-term affair, which remained a hot topic in gossip circles.In the 1990s, Nagarjuna and Tabu shared screen space in films like Ninne Pelladatha and Aavida Maa Aavide, and soon, rumours of their off-screen relationship began making headlines. The buzz around their alleged affair stirred controversy, especially since Nagarjuna was already married to Amala at the time.



In a past interview with The Times of India, Nagarjuna openly expressed his deep admiration for Tabu. He called her a long-time friend, recalling that their bond began when he was in his early twenties and she was just 16. While he didn’t confirm the relationship, he made it clear that Tabu held a special place in his life, even saying his “face lights up” when her name is mentioned.


When speculation about Nagarjuna and Tabu’s alleged affair began to surface, Amala Akkineni chose to address it calmly and with confidence. Instead of avoiding the rumours, she spoke openly about her long-standing bond with Tabu and made it clear that there was no strain between them.



Amala shared that Tabu is someone she remains close to and even stays with the Akkineni family whenever she visits Hyderabad. She also expressed complete trust in both her husband and her friend, making it evident that the rumours held no ground in her eyes. Her dignified stance quietly put the gossip to rest and showcased the strength of the relationships she values.

Before marrying Amala Akkineni, Nagarjuna was married to Lakshmi Daggubati, the daughter of renowned Telugu film producer Dr. D. Ramanaidu. They tied the knot in 1984 and had a son, Naga Chaitanya, in 1986. However, after six years together, their relationship began to fade, and they separated in 1990.



Later, Nagarjuna met actress Amala Mukherjee while working together, and their relationship blossomed into love. They got married in 1992 and welcomed their son, Akhil Akkineni, in 1994. On the work front, Nagarjuna will be next seen in Rajinikanth's 'Coolie'.
