Nawazuddin is back in Varanasi for another film shoot

To avoid any mob frenzy, some scenes of Tamil film 'Petta', involving actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui were canned early morning at

Assi Ghat

in Varanasi this weekend. The actor, enacting reportedly a politician in the film, was spotted talking on his phone, with the morning Ganga arti being performed in the background, as part of the scene.
For the 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' actor, Varanasi is a familiar turf as he had stayed for a long time in the city during the shooting of Gangs of Wasseypur, that was conducted largely around the city. During that time, the actor had explored Varanasi extensively and enjoyed local cuisine like laiye-chana and daal-baati while staying at Luxa near Godowlia.

He came back again for the film 'Ghoomketu' in 2013, that captured the picturesque locations on the outskirts of the city. Nawazuddin played a character hailing from a small town in the film.
'Petta' is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and has superstar Rajinikanth in the main lead.
