Nawazuddin Siddiqui says the fantasy world feels real, as 'actual life me humne naqab zyada pehen ke rakha hai'
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the talented actors of Hindi cinema. In a recent interaction, the actor opened up about how he loves to be in the character while shooting for a movie, as he feels that everyone has put on masks in the real world as well. The actor even expressed that sometimes he thinks that the fantasy world is more real than the actual one. Let's take a look at it.
The actor expressed that if someone can afford to be in that character, then why not stay? He added, "Real life mein koi aise sukhchaab ke par thodi lage hue hain joh aapke bina kaam nahi chalega (In real life, no one is sitting on such a lofty pedestal that things won’t function without them)."
The actor shared, "Mera toh blur ho jaata hai maamla. Yeh zyada real lagta hai kyunki real life mein humne itne naqaab pehen rakhe hain ki pata hi nahi chalta kaun sachcha hai, kaun jhootha (For me, it all becomes a blur. This feels more real because in real life we wear so many masks that you can’t even tell who’s genuine and who’s fake)."
The 'Lunchbox' actor concluded, saying, "Pata karna padta hai ki bhai kaun sachcha hai. Khud hi itne jhoothe ho gaye hain hum. Sabke chehron par naqaab dekhne padte hain; kaunsa real banda hai. Toh better hai ki film pe zyada vishwas kiya jaye bhaiya, yeh world bahut correct hai (You have to figure out who’s genuine, because we ourselves have become so fake. You have to look at everyone’s masks to see who the real person is. So it’s better to trust the film world more, brother—that world feels much more correct)."
On the work front, the actor is currently promoting his next project, 'Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders'. The film also stars Radhika Apte, Chitrangda Singh, Deepti Naval, Sanjay Kapoor, and Revathy. It is slated to premiere on Netflix on December 19, 2025.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui shares he likes to stay in character instead of stepping out of it
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was asked about how he steps out of his character, especially when it gets quite heavy to carry it. The actor questioned why someone should come out of it when the person has the opportunity to be immersed in it while the shooting is going on. He said, "Honestly, agar aap ussi world mein rahe toh kitna accha lagta hai. Bahar ka kaunsa aisa world hai jismein aapko aana zaroori hai? Ya, aisa kya naya mil jaayega bahar aane se? Agar mujhe teen mahine ka time mil raha hai jitna play karne ka, toh mujhe khushi hoti hai ki yeh time dobara nahi aayega (Honestly, if you stay in that world itself, it feels so good. What is there outside that is so important for you to go to? Or what new thing will you really gain by stepping out? If I’m getting three months to play like this, I’m happy because this time will never come back)."The actor expressed that if someone can afford to be in that character, then why not stay? He added, "Real life mein koi aise sukhchaab ke par thodi lage hue hain joh aapke bina kaam nahi chalega (In real life, no one is sitting on such a lofty pedestal that things won’t function without them)."

Nawazuddin Siddiqui further shared that sometimes, for him, the fantasy world feels more real. He said, "Kabhi-kabhi toh mujhe real life se zyada yeh fantasy world real lagta hai. Unreal kya hai? Mujhe film wala world kabhi-kabhi real lagne lagta hai itne time se karne ke baad (Sometimes this fantasy world feels more real to me than real life. What is unreal, really? After doing it for so long, the world of films itself sometimes starts to feel real to me)."The actor shared, "Mera toh blur ho jaata hai maamla. Yeh zyada real lagta hai kyunki real life mein humne itne naqaab pehen rakhe hain ki pata hi nahi chalta kaun sachcha hai, kaun jhootha (For me, it all becomes a blur.
