Neha Dhupia on why her friendships are strong; says, ' They’re great because I don’t exploit them'

Bollywood star Neha Dhupia has a huge fan following and all thanks to her charm and magnificent talent. The actress recently shared an insight on how she maintains good friendship and on why she stays away from gang where she feels she doesn't fit.

In a recent chat with Screen spotlight, Neha spoke about how she keeps her friendships strong even when the industry is full of competition. Neha said, “I have some great friendships in business. And they’re great because I don’t exploit them professionally. But when I feel like there’s something me or my friends feel I might fit into, I reach out or they reach out. But otherwise it’s not a daily call saying, ‘What’s happening? Where am I getting cast today?’ (laughs). None of that happens.”




This shows that she likes to keep her work life and her friendships separate.

Neha shares a funny story about Karan Johar

Neha also spoke about Karan Johar and how she ended up doing a voiceover for his film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'. Before that she had worked with him in 'Lust Stories'.

She said it happened in a funny way because she kept calling him again and again for her podcast. Neha shared, “I called Karan once, twice, thrice for my podcast. He heard my voice so many times that he got fed up and asked me to come do this voiceover.”

She laughed while telling this story and it showed how her friendships grow naturally, without force or pressure.

Neha talks about how friendships change with time

Neha also spoke earlier in 2024 with ETimes about how her friendships have changed over the years. She said that connections become better as time passes.

She shared, “Over time, the longer the friendships are, the deeper they get. So, it's interesting to see how times have changed and my friendships have changed over time.”

The actress also said that she never mixes friendship and work, and she has no problem if someone who is not close to her still calls her for a job. Neha said, “There’s never a professional clash. It's not like, just because we're friends, we're going to work together, and at the same time, just because I'm not friendly with someone, it doesn't mean that they don't call me for work. So, it's always important to know how to maintain that divide amongst ourselves.”

Diva shares who her “3 A.M. Friend” is

Neha also said something sweet about her personal life. She talked about who she would call at 3 a.m. if she needed help.

Talking to us Neha had said earlier, “I always wonder why people ask that question, and I would imagine it's in the time of an emergency or something. But now I'm married, so my 3 a.m. friend is my husband, because if there is a problem, I'll just tell him, Angad, wake up. So, I don't have to pick up the phone and call someone else when I have him.”

Her answer shows how much she trusts her husband Angad Bedi.

On the work side, Neha has been part of two recent projects. She played a therapist in Perfect Family. After that, she acted in 'Single Papa', where she played an adoption agency officer.
