Old-age homes these days come with all modern amenities that ensure a hassle-free life for senior citizens.
Facilities include internet connectivity, ATMs close by, well-equipped libraries, emergency calling system, yoga centres etc.
“The idea is to provide senior citizens a comfortable place to live,” says Shashank Paranjape, managing director of one such housing project.
Dr Madhusudhan Purandare, a 73-year-old retired eye surgeon, says, “We have big bungalows in the city. But, after my children went to the US, it was tough living alone. So, we shifted to an old-age society. We don’t compromise on our lifestyle and readily available medical facilities are an added advantage here,” explains Dr Purandare.
Mangla Joshi, 62, a retired school principal, says, “I want to live my life without anybody telling me what to do. And this is the perfect place to lead a dignified life.”
Everyone loves to lead a good life. That includes our seniors as well.
