'Noida Film City is about empowering the next generation of storytellers with the infrastructure'
Noida Film City is poised to become the site of what its backers describe as the world’s largest integrated incubation and laboratory ecosystem for content creators, an ambitious project that reflects India’s growing push to position itself as a global hub for creative production.
The initiative, announced as part of the broader vision outlined in India’s Union Budget 2026, aims to support creators across film, digital media and emerging online formats, at a time when India’s creator economy is expanding rapidly both at home and abroad.
According to the filmmaker Boney Kapoor, who has been closely associated with the project, the proposed ecosystem is intended to move beyond traditional film schools or training institutes. Instead, it is being conceived as a full-scale incubation environment where creators can develop intellectual property, launch careers and build businesses designed for international audiences.
“This is about empowering the next generation of storytellers with the infrastructure, mentorship and creative freedom to work at a truly global scale,” Boney Kapoor said.
The ecosystem will be anchored within the Bayview Bhutani Film City in Noida, where planners envision a single destination bringing together filmmakers, YouTubers, gamers, musicians, podcasters and other audio-visual creators. By housing diverse creative disciplines in one location, the project’s proponents say it will encourage collaboration across formats, from feature films and streaming series to digital-first storytelling, including short-form and vertical video formats.
Plans for the Film City include advanced production studios, technology and post-production hubs, structured incubation labs and mentorship programs involving established industry figures. Developers have also highlighted the inclusion of architecturally distinctive and visually varied locations intended to attract large-scale domestic and international productions.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”
