The bottles sparked a minor fire, said the police, adding that the bottles had been flung to protest against the screening of the controversial film Padmaavat.

A police officer said that footage shows the men outside the theatre for a minute before throwing the bottles and fleeing.

“The men flung the bottles in an open space so that they would not hurt bystanders,” said a police officer. Senior police inspector

Prakash Londe

said, “It appears that the men only wanted to spark panic outside the theatre. Yet, efforts are in to trace the two.”
