At the BAFTA Awards 2026, Boong triumphed over strong international contenders such as Arco, Lilo & Stitch, and Zootopia 2 to secure the coveted honour.
Directed by Lakshmipriya Devi, the film follows the journey of a young boy growing up in Manipur amid social and political unrest. Boong released in theatres in September 2025 after travelling to multiple international film festivals, where it garnered critical acclaim.
