Priyanka Chopra believes her late father would have chosen Nick Jonas as her life partner
Priyanka Chopra got married to Nick Jonas in December 2018 in Rajasthan, India. She missed her father, Ashok Chopra's presence during the wedding. Her father had passed away in the year 2013 after battling cancer for years. And now, in a recent interview, the actress shared that if her father had been alive, he would also have chosen Nick Jonas as a partner for her. Let's take a look at what she has to say.
She also gave the reason behind her statement. The actress said, "My dad's first love was music. He loved music. He loved singing it. He loved listening to it. He loved admiring the artistry behind it.”
Priyanka expressed that her singer-husband is a "prodigy" and her dad would have "loved" him. The actress shared that her late father would have respected him as a person. She said, "More than anything, Nick is a really wise soul, a wise person," adding, "and I think that he would have wanted someone like that for me, because that ain't me."
But while Ashok never got to meet Nick or Malti, Priyanka feels that her dad and "the angels of the universe" had a hand in the way her life has turned out. She added, "I almost felt like I had hands behind my back, pushing me to move to America, to have a pop career, to suddenly be on these avenues where I landed up meeting the person who would be the father of my child."
The actress called the entire journey "serendipitous." She stated that it was not her ambition and she wasn't seeking this life. However, according to Priyanka, circumstances put her in a situation where this became her life, and she had to survive it.
She concluded, saying, "And when you look back at your journey, it's like, 'Oh, now I see the why.'"
On the other hand, she will be making a comeback to the Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli's 'Varanasi', co-starring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
