Priyanka Chopra's cousin Meera Chopra says,'She never wanted to play family card'
Priyanka Chopra's cousin Meera Chopra, who made her debut in Bollywood with '1920: London', clarified that she never wanted to use the names of her cousins, Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra, to progress in her career.
In an interview with India Today, the actress admitted that she is tired of the struggles that have become a truth in her life. Having spent nearly nine years in the industry with only four projects to her credit, Meera clarified that she doesn’t mean to give up the fight.
Meera shared that she should be getting more roles, which she is not, and she is tired of running behind people. She expressed that there should be more movies like Safed where she can honestly and truly show what she can do.
Meera Chopra took a dig at star kids, noting that many non-actors get lead roles because of their family connections. The actress explained that they come from film families or know people in the industry. This has to stop, and talent needs to move forward.
According to her, the audience should start valuing talent; that’s why we're all here. The actress shared that she is part of the family, but it wasn’t like when she was not getting roles; there was someone behind her pushing her ahead.
The actress added that no one was picking up the phone to say Priyanka and Parineeti are her sisters, so give her work. That did not happen, and she never wanted that either. She went on to say that she never wanted to play the family card and get through that.
