Raashii Khanna opens up about underwhelming performance of Yodha at the box office: 'Every film has its destiny'
Despite the movie's high anticipation and buzz, Sidharth Malhotra starrer Yodha struggled to attract audiences to theatres and failed to make a significant impact commercially. Raashii Khanna, who also shared the screen alongside Sidharth and Disha Patani, recently shared her thoughts on the underwhelming performance of Yodha at the box office.
Raashii acknowledged the disappointment surrounding the film's reception but remained optimistic about the creative journey and the experience gained through the project. She mentioned that while some people may love the film, others may not, and bringing audiences to theatres is a challenge, especially with the growing popularity of OTT platforms for movie releases.
"I don't think Yodha is a bad film at all, so that's fine. I think every film has its destiny, and you just learn from it and then move on to your next. That's all we can do," Raashii told India Today.
Regarding her performance in Yodha, Raashii expressed happiness at receiving praise and love from the audience. She said that her job is to deliver her best in every role and ensure that the audience enjoys her performance. Despite the film's commercial performance, Raashii was delighted to be back in Hindi cinema and appreciated the opportunity to see herself on the big screen, describing it as a 'very nice moment' and a 'very nice feeling.'
Earlier, Raashii had said in her Instagram live that she has fulfilled her dream of being a Dharma heroine. "I have always had that dream of being a part of a Dharma film, and wear a chiffon saree, and be in a place where there's snow all around. With 'Yodha', I am wearing a saree but I didn't get a song like that. I'm halfway there," she said.
Directed by debutant duo of Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, the high-octane action thriller follows Arun Katyal, the commanding officer of an elite unit, the Yodha Task Force, on a thrilling rescue operation.
