Raghubir Yadav's divorce-alimony case has only gotten dirtier by the day. The senior actor, his wife Purnima claims, has not been able to meet her on the same page as far as the alimony amount is concerned. The actor's legal counsel says that Purnima is asking for an unaffordable amount.
Purnima tells

that Raghubir, on the other hand too, has harassed her because he's not paying his monthly maintenance amount to her on time. She adds, "Last year, there was a point where I was unpaid for 5 months. This delay in turn cost me my house in Yari Road. I couldn't pay the rent in time and had to face humiliation. Thereafter, I am living on loans. Also, I had to mortgage my gold. This year too, I went unpaid for 4 months. Two months before the date in court, I was given Rs 80,000 which was for 2 months."
When contacted, Raghubir Yadav did not take our calls or respond to our text messages about the rift that isn't ending (the two have been estranged since 1995). Shockingly, he started sending us posts of Purnima where she is in a happy mood. Wonder what he was trying to suggest or achieve.
Yadav's lawyer,
Shalini Devi
told ETimes, "There is no point making the war between Raghubir and Purnima ugly. Purnima is asking for an exorbitant amount, else my client would have settled it by now. Raghubir is 71 and Purnima should rather understand."
Purnima's lawyer Ishika Tolani shot back that Raghubir Yadav is doing rather well in his career and his stance that he's not in a position to pay the amount that Purnima has demanded is preposterous. She says, "My client has to bear the brunt of living such a hard life and Raghubir should pay up as per her expectations. Purnima has looked after their son as a mother and father both."
Tolani's colleague
Tooba Khan
says, "Raghubir has deserted his wife and child. We even tried the mediation process but it didn't work out."
Purnima came back to say, "Raghubir has now even blocked our son’s number on his phone. Otherwise, they were in touch, off and on."
