'2.0': Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in a big-ticket entertainer

Raising the bar of big-budget movies in India, director Shankar’s ‘2.0’ is set to release today amidst much fan fare. One of the main highlights of the film is the on-screen clash between Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s characters. As expected from a film by Shankar, this sci-fi feature will have state-of-the-art visual effects and technical expertise. Talking about the prospects of the film, Rajinikanth had said during the film’s trailer launch, “Everyone works hard to make their film a success.But there is some magic in this project that is sure to work. Shankar is a showman, a magician and the country’s very own James Cameron and Steven Spielberg. He never fails to entertain the audience and the producers.”

His co-star Akshay Kumar also points out that ‘2.0’ is a showcase of technical wizardry. He says, “It’s a social, scientific thriller. It’s unlike anything that I have seen before. I am proud to be a part of this film that truly has a larger-than-life vision. We’ve shot the film in 3D and Shankar sir, AR Rahman sir, Resul Pookutty and the entire team has put in a lot of hard work and effort to craft a film that is truly unique.”
