Rajkummar Rao reveals why he and Patralekhaa skipped haldi and sangeet: ‘We just had parties with themes like a pool party and white party’
Rajkummar Rao, who is gearing up for the release of Bhool Chuk Maaf alongside Wamiqa Gabbi, recently got candid about his wedding with Patralekhaa. In a refreshing departure from traditional ceremonies, the couple decided to ditch the usual sangeet and haldi functions, opting instead for a series of themed parties to mark their union.

Speaking to IANS, Rajkummar recalled, “At my wedding, we didn’t have ceremonies like sangeet or haldi. We just had parties.” He went on to describe how they celebrated with a mix of daytime and nighttime events, including post-wedding festivities. “We had theme parties like a pool party and a white party,” he added.

In another interview with Screen, Rajkummar opened up about his thoughts on marriage, referencing the popular saying “Shaadi ka laddu jo khaye wo pachtaye, aur jo na khaye wo bhi pachtaye.” He said the quote likely came from someone who was unhappy in their marriage and emphasized the importance of marrying the right person. “Marriage should only happen when you find the right partner. Don’t rush or get married under pressure,” he advised.
Reflecting on his own big day, Rajkummar described it as one of the best times of his life. “It was full of fun and memorable moments. Everyone who came still talks about the celebration,” he shared fondly. The wedding, held during the chilly November winters in Chandigarh, even had a moment of chaos when they forgot to arrange a pagdi for him during the pheras. But the hiccup was quickly resolved when Farah Khan tied it for him.
