Rakhi Sawant calls Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja ‘Rakhi Sawant 2.0,’ reacts to divorce rumours

Rakhi Sawant has once again grabbed attention with her outspoken and heartfelt remarks—this time for Sunita Ahuja, the wife of Govinda. In a recent interview, the drama queen of Bollywood praised Sunita for her bold personality, calling her “Rakhi Sawant 2.0.”

‘Sunita ji is bindass, just like me’

When asked who could replace her in Bollywood, Rakhi didn’t hesitate to name Sunita Ahuja. She told Bollywood Bubble, “Mere baad agar koi hai, toh wo hai Sunita ji — Sunita ji bindass hai, meri tarah. Bilkul Rakhi Sawant 2.0! Sunita ji mast hai, mujhe bohot pasand hai woh.” (If anyone can replace me, it’s Sunita ji — she’s carefree like me. Totally Rakhi Sawant 2.0! She’s amazing, I really like her.)

Rakhi went on to praise Sunita’s unapologetic nature and her willingness to speak her mind. She added, “Haan, dekhti hoon, Govinda ji ki wife. Mast, bindass bolti hai. Har insaan ko haq hona chahiye bolne ka. Main Sunita ji ko salute karti hoon, woh joh theek lagta hai, woh bolti hai. Mujhe woh sachchi lagti hai. Hum jaise 24-carat sachcha gold hote hain, waise hi Sunita ji gold hai.” (Yes, I watch Govinda ji’s wife. She speaks freely and confidently. Every person should have the right to speak. I salute Sunita ji — she says what she feels is right. She seems genuine to me. Just like we are 24-carat pure gold, Sunita ji is also gold.)

Calling herself “Bollywood’s soan papdi,” Rakhi said she finds Sunita to be genuine and strong, much like her.

On Govinda and Sunita’s divorce rumours

Rakhi also addressed the ongoing buzz around Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s relationship, recalling her past interactions with the veteran actor. She said, “Chi Chi bhaiya (Govinda) se main bahut baar mili hoon. Maine unke saath bahut gaane kiye hain, struggling time mein. Lekin unhone mujhe kabhi nazar utha ke bhi nahi dekha. Halaanki, poori Bollywood ki toh soan papdi toh main hoon! Soan papdi hoon na main Bollywood ki? Bilkul hoon!” (I’ve met Chi Chi bhaiya (Govinda) many times. I’ve worked with him during my struggling days, but he never once looked at me inappropriately. Although I’m the ‘soan papdi’ of Bollywood, right? Yes, I totally am!)




Rumours of trouble in Govinda and Sunita’s marriage first surfaced in late 2024, with reports suggesting Sunita had filed for divorce citing adultery, cruelty, and desertion. However, the couple later clarified that they were not separating.

They have since appeared together at public events, including Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, quashing speculation about a split. Sunita Ahuja had publicly declared, “No one can separate us,” while Govinda’s manager dismissed the rumours as “old news.”



Although the couple acknowledged having lived separately for some time, they have maintained that their relationship remains strong and that all misunderstandings have been resolved.
