Superstar Ram Charan's visit to Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, turned chaotic as an overwhelming fan frenzy prompted police to resort to lathi charge.
The actor made a public appearance at the venue as the chief guest for the 80th National Mushaira Ghazal event at the Kadapa dargah. This drew in massive crowds eager to catch a glimpse of him.
Dressed in an all-black traditional attire, Ram was also seen offering prayers at the dargah. His appearance drew in fans by the hundred, who crowded around the road to catch a glimpse of him. While some held up banners, others waved flags and some more came along with garlands and flowers to give to the superstar actor.
Videos from the venue see Charan waving at fans from his car's sun roof, further electrifying the atmosphere. However, the situation quickly escalated as some fans attempted to climb onto his vehicle to get closer to the star. While men took turns to climb on the roof of the actor's car, presumably to come in contact with him, Ram kept his cool and waved at those gathered around him.
The police were then seen springing into action and resorting to lathi charge the unruly crowd. Some cops even surrounded the actor's car to pull the men off the roof.
Videos from the scene show fans making way for the actor's car to exit the premises as authorities beat up people with their sticks. All throughout, the actor was seen maintaining his composure.
On the professional front, Ram Charan is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated film 'Game Changer' which will see him co-starring with actress Kiara Advani. Slated to hit theatres on January 10, 2025, during Sankranti. Directed by Shankar, the political drama is expected to showcase the actor in a dual role, including that of an IAS officer striving to eradicate corruption in the political system.
The actor is also set to star in a yet-untitled project, tentatively called RC16 and directed by Buchi Babu Sana.
