Ram Gopal Varma hails Triptii Dimri and Sandeep Reddy Vanga after she replaces Deepika Padukone in Prabhas starrer Spirit: 'The next big thing in Bollywood'
Triptii Dimri has officially been announced as the female lead in Spirit, the highly anticipated film by Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film marks her first on-screen pairing with pan-India superstar Prabhas, adding to the buzz around this upcoming project.
Soon after the casting announcement, veteran filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma took to Twitter to shower praise on Vanga for his decision to cast Triptii. Applauding both her talent and the director's vision, Varma wrote, “Hey @imvangasandeep Going by both her tremendous screen presence and performance which you showcased in ANIMAL, I think your decision will make her the NEXT BIG THING IN BOLLWOOD far beyond the current BIGGIES CONGRAAATS @tripti_dimri23 High Time for your SPIRIT to FLY into the SKY.”
On Saturday, May 24, Triptii Dimri took to Instagram to confirm her role in Spirit, expressing her gratitude to the filmmaker and reflecting on her journey. “Still sinking in.. So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you @sandeepreddy.vanga. Honoured to be a part of your vision,” she wrote.
Triptii previously worked with Sandeep Reddy Vanga on Animal, where her performance as Zoya earned her widespread acclaim and a new wave of fan following. The confirmation of her casting in Spirit has excited fans eager to see what this creative duo brings to the screen next.
Deepika Padukone reportedly exited Spirit
Interestingly, Triptii Dimri joined Spirit amid swirling rumours about Deepika Padukone’s exit due to creative and contractual disagreements. Reports claim Deepika had asked for shorter working hours, a hefty fee, and a share in the profits — terms that reportedly clashed with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s working style.
Adding to her impressive lineup, Triptii Dimri is also confirmed to star in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next film, Animal Park, the sequel to Animal. However, filming for that project will begin only after Spirit wraps up production.
