​‘Ram Setu’ with Akshay Kumar, Vishal Furia’s ‘Chhorri’: Nushrratt Bharuccha’s solid lineup of films

Time and again, actress Nushrratt Bharuccha has managed to leave the audience impressed with her acting chops. With films like ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’, ‘Chhalaang’ and her last digital outing ‘Ajeeb Daastaans’, she has been able to strike the right chord with her fans and movie-goers. Nushrratt is all set to take her career a notch higher with her upcoming stellar lineup of films as she will be seen experimenting with the different genres. From ‘Ram Setu’ with Akshay Kumar and Jacqueline Fernandez to Vishal Furia’s horror film ‘Chhorri’, here taking a look at her upcoming projects:

​Chhorri

Nushrratt will be seen doing a horror film for the first time. She is known to appear in films that are comedy, romantic or dramatic. Fans will get to watch something new from her. She will be seen as the central character in the film. It is an official remake of a Marathi film, ‘Lapachhapi’ that was directed by Vishal Furia. The Hindi remake will be also be helmed by him. Earlier speaking about the film, the actress told BT, “It’s not just a horror film, but it will bring to light a deep rooted social message.” She further added, “My stress is that we have taken the responsibility that too in a genre, which is difficult to crack. If it is a comedy, it is still easy to crack. The spectrum of finding anything funny is larger as you can laugh at something as simple as a knock-knock joke also.”

​Hurdang

The actress will be seen in her element as she will be featuring in ‘Hurdang’. The actress has teamed up with Vijay Varma and Sunny Kaushal for this one. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt and produced by Shailesh R Singh, the movie is set against the backdrop of the 1990s.

​Janhit Mein Jaari

Nushrratt will be seen leaving everyone in splits with her comedy film, ‘Janhit Mein Jaari’. She has teamed up with Pavail Gulati for the first time. The film will be directed by Omung Kumar. The actress will be seen playing the role of a condom sales executive. Speaking about her role, Raaj Shaandilya had earlier told BT, “In the film, Nushrratt hops between selling condoms at medical stores and also runs promotions in different areas of the locality. The film also focuses on the repercussions she faces in her personal life due to her profession, which is rare for a woman.”

​Ram Setu

Nushrratt is all set to be seen alongside Akshay Kumar and Jacqueline Fernandez in ‘Ram Setu’. It is the first movie to be shot in Ayodhya. It is an action-adventure drama that brings to light a story that is deeply rooted in Indian cultural and historical heritage. Helmed by Abhishek Sharma, it is produced by Aruna Bhatia and Vikram Malhotra. The trio was seen shooting for the film during the lockdown, but currently, the shoot has been halted. Earlier the actress expressed her excitement about shooting with Akshay and Jacqueline. She had tweeted, “Super duper excited to begin filming for #RamSetu with @akshaykumar sir, @Asli_Jacqueline and the entire team. Need your best wishes.”
