Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda touched down in Imphal on Monday, well in time to commence wedding prep as he gets ready to take the plunge with his Manipuri lady love, actress Lin Laishram.
The couple, who will wed on Wednesday, November 29, were spotted offering prayers at a temple at Heingang in Imphal East district. After seeking blessings, Hooda, in s statement to the reporters gathered there, expressed his desire for a happy married life.
He said, "Peace for Manipur, peace everywhere in the world and happy married life."
The actor was also asked about the rumours of several Bollywood stars scheduled to attend his wedding. Reacting to the rumours, the groom brushed it aside and assured, "It's just me."
Later in the evening, the duo went to Shri Govindaji temple to offer prayers.
Randeep and Lin's wedding announcement comes just weeks after news broke that the couple would wed in November, in the presence of their families and closest friends. On Saturday, Randeep and his bride-to-be took to Instagram to announce their wedding and share details about the ceremony. They also announced that they would be hosting a grand wedding reception n in Mumbai for their film industry friends.
"Taking a leaf out of Mahabharata where Arjuna married Manipuri warrior princess Chitrangada, we are getting married with the blessing from our family and friends.
"We are filled with immense joy to share that our marriage will take place on the 29th November, 2023, Imphal, Manipur, followed by a reception in Mumbai. As we set to embark on this journey, we seek your blessing and love for this union of cultures, for which we are forever indebted and grateful," the couple said in a joint statement.
The duo has been in a relationship for a couple of years. Lin, 37, is a model, actor and businesswoman, who has featured in films such as 'Mary Kom', 'Rangoon' and recently 'Jaane Jaan'.
Hooda was last seen in 'Sergeant'. He will be seen next in 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar', which he has also directed.
