As today marks the auspicious day of Mahalaya, it’s the beginning of Durga Puja festivities all around the world. However, sadly the lavish celebrations at the houses of our
Bollywood
celebrities will be different this time owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Much like 2020, this year stars like Rani Mukerji and
Kajol who celebrate Durga Puja every year at North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja, would be opting for a low-key virtual affair.
According to a report in Jagran English, following last year’s rule, the community members have decided to live stream the puja to avoid overcrowding of the pandal. A senior member told the news portal that only a few people will be allowed to enter the puja premises keeping safety in mind.
He shared that members would be allotted a specific time slot to visit the pandals while senior citizens are advised to stay home. In addition to this, two hours have been permitted for the morning Anjali which will not include flowers. Sandhya aarti will also be wrapped up within two hours.
Every year the Bengali beauties of Bollywood, including Kajol and her mother Tanuja, sister
Tanishaa
are spotted joining in the festivities. Rani Mukerji is snapped religiously at the pandal with filmmaker
Ayan Mukerji
and their pictures become the highlight of the Durga Puja celebration in B-Town.
