Violence is a most condemnable act and it reeks of a person's failure to act in a civil manner. We rarely get to see such behaviour when it comes to Bollywood stars, but there are always exceptions to deal with. Recently, Ranveer Singh was accidentally hit in the face by an eager fan and that brought back memories of other such incidents from the past, where some Bollywood celebs were slapped either accidentally or in fits of misplaced anger and aggression. There's never been an official confirmation of this incident, but reports in newspapers from 2009 speculated that Salman Khan was slapped by an intoxicated young woman named Monika in Delhi. At a party in a five star hotel, Sohail Khan instructed the security staff to not let an out of control Monika into the party, but the young lady kept creating a commotion. When Salman tried to take stock of the situation, the inebriated woman ended up slapping the star. The Bajrangi Bhaijaan star reportedly kept his cool and had the security escort the woman out.

Recently on the red carpet of an award show for South language film industries, held in Bengaluru, Ranveer Singh got mobbed by fans on the red carpet. But in the blitz and chaos for selfies an over-enthusiastic fan managed to land an accidental slap on Ranveer's face. The actor escaped without any injury and maintaining his grace, he neither flinched nor did he lose his cool. The Simba star continued his red carpet appearance without fuss.

Back in the 90s, on the sets of Ajnabee, Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu got into an altercation with a matter concerning designer Vikram Phadnis. Reports suggested their argument escalated to such an extent that Kareena allegedly ended up calling Bipasha names and even slapped her. Neither actress has ever confirmed the slapping incident, but both Bipasha and Kareena have on separate occasions acknowledged the unfortunate skirmish.

Gauahar Khan made headlines when she was slapped at the reality TV show India’s Raw Star by a man named Akil Mallik. The man was almost instantly apprehended and the reason he gave for hitting Gauahar was that she was wearing short clothes despite being a Muslim. Mallik was criticised by all sections of society and later back tracked on his statement by saying the whole incident was a PR stunt.

In 2005, an argument between Esha Deol and Amrita Rao on the sets of their film Pyare Mohan got out of hand and Esha ended up slapping Amrita. Esha later revealed that Amrita had abused her in front of director Indra Kumar and the cameraman and to protect her self-respect and dignity, in the heat of the moment, she ended up slapping Amrita.
