Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda get warm welcome on 'Ranabaali' sets; Newlyweds cut cake with team

Ranabaali is a period action drama set between 1854 and 1878 during British rule. Reportedly the film draws inspiration from real incidents of the 1850s that were often ignored or misrepresented in mainstream history books.

Rashmika plays Jayamma, Vijay’s wife in the film and on the last day, the couple received a sweet surprise when they returned to the sets of their upcoming period drama 'Ranabaali' after their wedding. The team welcomed the newlyweds with a small celebration, including cake cutting and bouquets.

Warm celebration on 'Ranabaali' sets

The production team organised a small celebration for the couple on the sets. Rashmika and Vijay were seen cutting a big cake together while holding bouquets.

The official caption read, "Ranabaali - Jayamma @TheDeverakonda- @iamRashmika Back on sets An eternal bond Team #Ranabaali wished the newly weds on sets with a celebration Grand release worldwide on September 11th (sic)."

Key schedule wrapped in Rayalaseema

The team recently completed an important shooting schedule in the Rayalaseema region. The makers shared that the area showered love on the lead pair during the shoot.

Vijay Deverakonda addressed fans in a video, saying, “It feels like coming back to my own village. When I was here for the shoot, Anantapur feels like my second hometown. I always have a seema feeling inside me.”

This marks the third time Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda are sharing screen space. They previously worked together in Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade.

The film is directed by Rahul Sankrityan and is planned as a big pan-India project with a grand worldwide release on September 11.

During the Rayalaseema schedule, fans gave the couple a warm welcome. Some even organised bike rallies for Vijay. Vijay later shared a video from the makers and wrote, “Rayalaseema. My Love. Thank you.”

With a key schedule wrapped and the film moving towards its grand release on September 11, excitement is building for this period drama.
