Ratna Pathak Shah cautions husband Naseeruddin Shah to tone down his criticisms

Outspoken couple Ratna Pathak Shah and Naseeruddin Shah often voice their opinions fearlessly. They also are very perturbed at what is happening in the country these days. Ratna reveals that she often has to stop Naseeruddin from voicing his protests at what is going on.

She often cautions him saying, “Aaj ke zamaane mein koi aa kar khada ho jayega ghar par hamare, pathar daalne (In today’s time someone will come and throw stones at our house). Anyways, it has become so difficult to get work, there are so many reasons for not getting work these days. So, one has to be sensible... but not scared, if that is possible,” she disclosed in an interview with Siddharth Kannan.

However, she stated that this does not mean that no one should speak up. She believes that people must raise a voice against injustice and wrongdoing of any kind. She admitted that, “Darr lagta hai,” but added, “Agar duniya mein galat ho raha hain, usko koi point out nahi karega toh woh sudhrega kaise.”

Naseeruddin Shah’s upcoming film, Kuttey, is releasing on January 13, 2023. Ratna, who has earlier acted in films like Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, Kapoor & Sons and Golmaal 3 will next be seen in Kutch Express. This will be her first major role in Gujarati cinema.
