Rekha recalls giving her first-ever audition for 'Parineeta': 'I didn’t even know what it meant back then...'
Veteran actress Rekha recently shared that 'Parineeta' was the first film she auditioned for. As the film completed 20 years since its release, the makers organized a special screening for the cast and others from the industry. At the event, she expressed her emotions about the film and how she always "knew it" that something like this would happen.
Here's what she said.
While speaking about the film and her experience working on it, Rekha added, "This was the first film in my life I ever auditioned for. I didn’t even know what it meant back then." The veteran beauty further revealed that producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra told her if she doesn't give an audition, she will be dropped from the film.
Rekha went on to say that he "gained a daughter in Vidya." The 'Krrish' actress said that Vidya didn't even blink her eyes while the song 'Kaisi Paheli' was being shot. She further shared that the 'Ishqiya' actress came to see her in the vanity after the song was done and said that she had learned a lot on that day.
Rekha said, "But seeing this film, I want to say today, I don’t think I have learned as much as I learned watching her."

At the event, Rekha thanked everyone who was present for the film's screening after twenty long years. Cinema Express quoted her saying, "This is something we never imagined; we prayed for it, and deep down I knew it, but I never knew that I’d be alive to see this day."While speaking about the film and her experience working on it, Rekha added, "This was the first film in my life I ever auditioned for. Rekha showers praise on Vidya Balan
Rekha showered love on Vidya Balan, who is the lead actress of the film. The actress expressed that she couldn't take her eyes off Vidya because the latter "has gotten such an unconventional beauty and approach towards her craft."Rekha said, "But seeing this film, I want to say today, I don’t think I have learned as much as I learned watching her."
