Rishi Kapoor chooses menacing Goldman over RAW chief

Rishi Kapoor, who will be seen as Goldman in Nikhil Advani’s D-Day, was initially approached for another role in the film.
The director had wanted the senior actor to play Ashwini Rao, the chief of RAW. He says, “But when I narrated the script to Rishiji, he got fascinated by Goldman’s character.”
Though excited about the role, the actor was slightly sceptical about doing justice to it.Eventually, the director persuaded Rishi to take a look test. “After seeing him as Goldman, I knew it was the right decision,” says Nikhil.
Co-produced by Essel Vision Productions, the film also stars Irrfan, Arjun Rampal, Huma Qureshi, Shruti Haasan, Akash Dahiya, Nasser, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Shriswara.
D-Day, produced by DAR Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment, releases July 19.
