A prayer meet was organised in the honour of late actor Vinod Khanna in Mumbai on Wednesday, after his sudden passing on April 27, 2017. A number of Bollywood superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt, Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan, among others were spotted at the prayer gathering to offer their support to the Khanna family. Apart from the family appreciating the gesture, fellow B-town actor Rishi Kapoor took it upon himself to thank those who attended the meeting.

It was only last week that the actor lashed out at the film industry’s young stars, for not attending Khanna’s funeral. However, the large turnout for the prayer meet seemed to have restored his faith in humanity. In his tweet, he said, “Thank you my film brethren for your solidarity shown towards the Khanna family. Hum mein ab bhi insaniyat baaki hai. Love you all.”




For those uninformed, Rishi had hit out at the new breed of Bollywood actors with a series of tweets that conveyed his disappointment in them for not showing up for the funeral or to pay their respects to the family. Rishi went on a Twitter rant by posting the following posts:





It looks like his words did not fall on deaf ears after all.
