Riteish Deshmukh relished every minute he spent shooting for 'Banjo'. It wasn't just the subject and his role in the musical drama, directed by Ravi Jadhav, that had him excited. It was also the chance to savour his favourite traditional

Koli

cuisine on the sets.

A major part of the movie has been shot at Mumbai's

Worli

village (Koliwada) where the locals brought homemade Koli food for Riteish and the film's crew. Says a crew member, 'The village locals, fond of Riteish, would call him

Mauli

(his name in one of his previous Marathi hits). Out of love for him, they'd get him authentic delicacies including Koli fish curry, Phatlun Shipi Curry and other varieties of seafood.' Riteish says, 'We shot for 'Banjo' for about a month at Worli's Koliwada. The locals were gracious enough to serve us their home cooked food every day. I got the opportunity to savour plenty of Koli delicacies. It was a humbling experience to be showered with so much love.'

'Banjo', produced by Eros International, releases on September 23.
