'Saali Mohabbat' actress Radhika Apte SLAMS the rise of alpha characters and romanticized obsession: 'I’m sick of power and control being called love
'Saali Mohabbat' actress Radhika Apte never minces words and always takes a stand on what she deems is right. In a recent interview, Apte opened up on how many films today depict obsession and control as love. The 'Pad Man' actress got candid on how this idea is wrong and harmful. According to her, love is not about forcing someone to adjust or suffer, saying when films show control as romance, people start believing it is normal.
Radhika adds, “It’s clearly happening from being treated badly over and over again.”
Apte strongly feels that love should not hurt you again and again, clearly saying, “You can’t call it love. I don’t agree with the notion.”
The 'Merry Christmas' actress is tired of seeing these ideas being praised on screen. She says such stories should stop because they glorify obsession and control. For her, love is simple. Love means freedom, respect, and happiness.
On the work front, Radhika Apte was seen in 'Sister Midnight' and Tisca Chopra's directorial debut 'Saali Mohabbat' alongside 'Mirzapur' fame Divyenndu Sharma.
