The Mumbai police have launched a search operation in the Tapi river in Surat to locate the gun believed to have been used by two individuals in a shooting incident.

According to police officials, they have recovered a firearm along with several live cartridges used in the shooting. The crime branch has stated that the search to find another weapon is still in progress.

On Monday, April 22, the Mumbai crime branch revealed that the shooters who allegedly fired outside the 58-year-old actor Salman Khan's house at the Galaxy Apartment in Bandra were ordered to fire 10 rounds of bullet.

According to the investigating agency, the suspects stated during questioning that they disposed of the gun in the Tapi River in Surat after carrying out the incident.

"The Mumbai crime branch has taken the accused Vicky Gupta with them to the Surat Tapi river, where they had thrown the gun. Police can also add other sections in this case", said the Mumbai crime branch.

Meanwhile, Surat Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot also confirmed the Mumbai police's involvement in Surat to recover the said firearm. The search effort, which included the senior police inspector Daya Nayak, often referred to as the 'encounter specialist,' worked alongside local divers and fishermen to comb through the Tapi River waters.

On the work front, Salman is slated to commence shooting for his upcoming film 'Sikandar', directed by AR Murugadoss.
