However, the film discovered a strong fan base after arriving on Netflix, turning what seemed like a modest release into a slow-burn success story. The growing appreciation prompted director Tarun Dudeja to confirm a follow-up in early 2024. There’s now fresh momentum around the sequel. Sanjana Sanghi recently shared that the screenplay is complete and has already won over the core team.Talking to Mid-Day, Sanjana Sanghi confirmed, “It’s a script that we’re all excited by, something that we’ve all said yes to. Tarun has done a stellar job in staying true to the characters. We can’t wait to reunite for it,” she said, hinting at the cast’s eagerness to return.The original ‘Dhak Dhak’ followed four women, played by Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, and Sanghi, as they embarked on a life-altering bike trip to Khardung La.
