As the new season of Lakme Fashion Week is all set to roll out its Winter/Festive collection, by designers who will display their work of art amidst a hall full of fashion moguls and celebrities.

When TimesOfIndia.com sat for an exclusive interaction with the designer of the extravagant opening night -

Sanjay Garg

, he spilled the beans about his latest collection,

Bollywood

dreams and more.

Sanjay’s collection 'Cloud People' boasts of incorporating the age-old culture of chikankari in a way no one has seen before. "Cloud People is a beautiful collection made in chikankari. They are not human and neither are they god hence the word people. It's a symbol of hope. We have tried to weave a story around motif in chikankari," he revealed.

The collection revisits chikankari, which traditionally features floral and paisley motifs with a vocabulary that explores new interpretations of its techniques. When asked how long it took him to work on the same, he quipped, "I have been working on this collection from past 18-20 months. When Lakme approached me, I wonder will I be able to complete the collection by then or not. Will be showcasing 60-65 pieces on the show."

His label is quite popular among the celebrities. One may find stars like Deepti Naval, Dia Mirza, Kajol, Kangana, Kirron Kher, Shabana, Kiran Rao and Rani Mukerji donning his beautifully intricate hand woven pieces every now and then, but for Sanjay, designing especially for Kangana Ranaut will be a dream come true. "I would love to design for Kangana someday," he said.

Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive starts today, 16 August in Mumbai.
