Veteran star Shabana Azmi recently shared a heartfelt tribute and birthday wish to her husband, Javed Akhtar. Many people also shared their well-wishes for the popular screenwriter as he turned 81 recently.

Azmi, who is best known for her roles in films like ‘Ghoomer’, ‘Chalk n Duster’, ‘Ishk Ishk Ishk’, and ‘Faslah’, recently gave a heartfelt and sweet birthday wish to long-time partner Javed Akhtar. While talking to ANI about his birthday, the famed actress said, “From the core of my heart, I wish him good health (Unki sehat humesha achchi rahein). May he continue to work with the same passion and enthusiasm as always, and continue to win people's hearts.”
She also took to her social media account to share a photo of Akhtar along with the caption "Salgirah mubarak Jadu."

Azmi and Akhtar have been happily married since 1984. Over the past 41 years, the two have shared a lot of moments. While the two never had children of their own, Azmi has been a beloved stepmother and huge supporter of Akhtar’s children, Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar, from his marriage to Honey Irani.
In a recent interview with Mid Day, the actress delved deep into the bond she shared with the veteran screenwriter. She had stated at the time that, “Javed and I are each other’s best friends. We come from identical backgrounds and share a common worldview. Our interests are similar, except for sports, about which I don’t have a clue.”
She also joked about some of his habits, ‘driving her mad’, sharing that he is always sitting and does not move, though he always complains that she is going around the house all the time. She further quipped in the interview and shared that, “I joke that we have a good marriage because we meet so rarely. Both of us are busy travelling in opposite directions. The fact is, Javed is wise and reliable. I trust him implicitly, and I hope he feels the same way about me.”
Over the course of his career, Javed Akhtar has won many accolades and has been well-praised for his writing prowess. Over the years, he has won around five National Film Awards.
