Shalini Pandey who starred in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Arjun Reddy' reacts to Deepika Padukone's 8-hour shift demand: 'Kudos to her'
Deepika Padukone's exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's '' caused a lot of stir as reports suggested that the actress had put forward some demands which did not go well with the makers. It was reported that one of the demands from Deepika was an 8-hour shift, now that she's become a mother. Deepika finally broke silence on this and recently said in an interview that many male superstars have been working for only eight hours a day, for years but somehow that never made headlines.
However, Deepika's exit from 'Spirit' followed by the sequel to 'Kalki 2898 AD', both starring Prabhas, sparked a debate on the eight-hour shift with many celebs weighing in. Actress Shalini Pandey who was seen in Vanga's 'Arjun Reddy' has now reacted to this. Pandey said during a chat with Hindustan Times, "Kudos to her for setting a precedent for us to be okay about advocating for mental health. She is incredible, so she should get whatever she wants."
She further spoke about actresses fighting for other things like pay parity but there's a long way to go. She added, "Abhi hum bahut dur hain (to demand) for things like equal pay. I’m glad that women in power, like (veteran actor) Shabana Azmi have been fighting for the needs and rights of women. They have helped my generation, and now it’s my duty to ask for things that I deserve. We may not get it every time, but I will still keep fighting and set a precedent for women."
Shalini was last seen in 'Maharaj' which was Aamir Khan's son Junaid khan's debut film.
