Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor was going to be the newest entrant in Bollywood with Karan Johar’s Bedhadak. But it seems the film is heading nowhere now as one of the lead actors from the film Lakshya Lalwani was in the running to be the lead actor for Aryan Khan’s debut web show Stardom. Shanaya was also roped in for a film called Screw Dheela with Tiger Shroff, which too hasn’t seen the light of the day.
Now India Today states that Shanaya is all set to make her South debut with Mohanlal’s Vrushabha which is backed by Ekta Kapoor’s production house. It is her first pan-India film which will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. The film is directed by Nand Kishore and it goes on floors later this month.
The report also reveals details about Shanaya’s role in the film. It states that the film is a period drama which will oscillate between the past and present. At the crux, it is a father-son story where Shanaya has a very dynamic role, as she connects the past with the present. Her role is glamorous as well as performance oriented.
Shanaya has erailer been an assistant director on her cousin Janhavi Kapoor’s film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.
