Sharda Sinha on ventilator support; PM Modi assures full medical support, says the singer's son Anshuman

Well-known singer Sharda Sinha, extremely popular in Bihar, is undergoing a tough health battle. The 72-year-old Samastipur born singer has been on ventilator support since many days, and is critical, her son Anshuman confirmed earlier. Sharda, who has been conferred with the title of 'Bihar Kokila' which means 'the cuckoo of Bihar', was hospitalised within weeks of losing her husband Brajkishore Sinha in September this year.


Recently Anshuman, while talking to ANI, confirmed that PM Modi has assured him of all the medical support needed for his mother's treatment.

Earlier, the news came that the singer was in shock due to the death of her husband Brij Kishore Sinha. The 'Padma Bhushan' recipient is admitted to the AIIMS hospital in Delhi for many days. Now, her son Anshuman went live on his official Youtube channel and has given fans her health update. He revealed that she's on ventilator and requested everyone to pray for her.

Sharda's singer son Anshuman said after going live from his Youtube channel, "So I am coming live at this time and giving you the correct information so that no one puts up wrong information. At least in such times, one should know how to correct oneself. Anyway, we are all praying that mother somehow survives. Her life should be saved. She is also in a lot of pain. So I request all of you who are listening and those who perform Chhath Puja to include her in your prayers. She has given a very long time for her country and state. Therefore, it is important that she should get some more time. Just thank you for now, I will be present as and when things happen.''

He further added, "This time this is the true news. Mother is on ventilator. I have just signed the consent. Keep praying. Mother has gone through a very big battle. It is difficult, very difficult. This time it is very difficult. Just pray that she can come out of this. This is the real update. I have just met her. May Chhathi Maa bless. Right now when I met the doctors, they said that the case has suddenly worsened. Right now everyone is trying."

The singer has crooned hundreds of traditional wedding and 'Chhath' songs in Bhojpuri and is a recipient of the Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan as well.
