Shekhar Kapur, who has made a comeback to direction after a hiatus of 16 years with the British romantic comedy What's Love Got to Do with It? recently opened up on his idea of romance and how, back in his day, there were no 'dating apps', but people bonded through music.

In an interaction with News18, the prolific filmmaker said “A lot of my relationships happened by casually walking into a park and saying hello to somebody. So, I wouldn’t say that I missed out on dating apps but those were different times. It was done through music and it has gone through a vast sea change.”

In another interview to PTI, the 77-year-old had opened up on his style of filmmaking. He said, "I make my movies from my heart. Storytelling is an emotional idea. As long as that emotion is relevant, the movie is relevant." He further added, “Storytelling is about being human. You, as a filmmaker, have to tell me, as an audience, my story, wherever I exist in the world. That’s what we try to do. And that’s why people are liking What’s Love Got To Do With It? because it feels like it’s their movie.”

What’s Love Got To Do With It? stars Shabana Azmi, Emma Thompson, Lily James, Shazad Latif and Sajal Aly.
