Shikha Talsania recently opened up about the much-talked-about
nepotism debate in
Bollywood
. According to the actress, she never benefited from being a
star kid
.
Talking to a news portal, she reportedly said that even if one is an insider, no two people can have the same journey. According to Shikha, even though her father has worked in the industry for 40 years, he never made calls for her. The actress added that when she started no one knew about her lineage.
Elaborating further, Shikha stated that it was her conscious decision that she wanted to carve her niche so she went through all the regular drills of auditions and screen tests.
Shikha also went on to say that nepotism benefitted her in the sense that she didn’t have to move cities to come to Mumbai or rent a place. She had that security. According to her, there were no reservations, fears, and doubts regarding work shifts. She didn’t require any explanation even when she travelled back from Madh Island at 4.30 am.
Shikha played one of the leads in ‘Veere Di Wedding’ which also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker, and Sonam Kapoor. The film received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike.
