Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was arrested on Monday night by the Mumbai Police in a pornography case. As per the official statement by Mumbai Police, Raj appears to be the ‘key conspirator’ in the case.

After his arrest, Raj’s old tweets about ‘

porn vs prostitution

’ from 2012 are going viral on the internet. In his tweets, he had questioned why it was legal to pay someone for sex on camera, asking how prostitution was different from porn.


He had written, “Ok so here go's Porn Vs Prostitution. Why is it legal to pay someone for sex on camera? How is one different to the other??”

His other tweet read, “India: Actors are playing cricket, Cricketers are playing politics, Politicians are watching porn and Porn stars are becoming actors....!” take a look:

Soon after these tweets of Raj started doing the rounds on Twitter, fans were quick to comment on his old tweets.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police Commissioner,

confirmed Raj Kundra's arrest in a statement on Monday that read, "There was a case registered with

Crime Branch Mumbai

in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We’ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this." According to the reports, he has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of IPC besides other sections of the IT act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

Post his arrest, the businessman was taken for a medical examination. Raj spent the night in the custody of the Crime Branch, Mumbai. On Tuesday, he will be produced before the magistrate's court.
