Shiney Ahuja slams a legal notice on the makers of 'Great Grand Masti' for naming a maid 'Shiney' in the film

Balaji Motion Pictures and Maruti International's 'Great Grand Masti' has been slammed with a legal notice even before it releases today, on July 15, 2016. Shiney Ahuja has sent a legal notice to Ekta Kapoor, Jeetendra Kapoor, Inder Kumar taking an offence to a maid's character in the film being named as 'Shiney.'


A source from the legal firm, that has sent the notice to the makers of the film, has been quoted in a report as saying that naming the maid Shiney seems to be a quirky take on the infamous rape case of maid involving Shiney Ahuja. Shiney"s advocate has explained that the conduct of the producers of the movie at this juncture constitutes Criminal Contempt as defined under Section 2(c) of the Contempt of Court Act 1971.

Shiney Ahuja has filed an appeal against his March 2011 conviction that had sentenced him to a seven-year jail term in the rape case filed in 2009 by his maid. The hearing of appeal is in progress before the Bombay High Court and therefore sub judice.
