Sonakshi Sinha says there's no pressure on her to cook after marriage with Zaheer Iqbal: 'I’m truly blessed. It's a matter of interest'
Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot on June 23 under the Special Marriage Act. The couple registered their wedding with in the presence of family and close friends at their home in Bandra. Sonakshi and Zaheer were recently spotted in the city for a promotional event for a travel company. During this event, Sonakshi told reporters that she's blessed to not have any pressure to cook. The actress said, "In today’s time, there is no such pressure on women (to cook) because everyone knows women have their work lives and their home lives as well. It is also a matter of interest. I’m truly blessed that I don’t have that pressure (of cooking). Even if I want to go ahead and do it (cooking), it’ll be because I want to do it."
The actress cooked for the first time at this event and said her mom Poonam Sinha would be proud. "The happiest person today would be my mom. She’s a fantastic cook. She thought her daughter would become a good chef which never happened. She thought I might become a good chef when I get married. She’s still waiting (for that to happen)."
Sonakshi added, "This is the first time I’ve actually attempted to cook something and it is in front of so many people. I was under a lot of pressure, but I think I did quite well… I enjoyed myself. I would love to learn (cooking) a lot more in the future."
The actress recalled her favourite memories of food while growing up and how food makes her nostalgic. She spoke about going to her grandmom's house in PAtna and eating the local delicacies like 'Litti Chokha' and 'Sattu Ka Paratha'.
On work front, Sonakshi was seen last in the horror comedy 'Kakuda' which had released on OTT. Before that, she got a lot of love for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Heeramandi', co-starring Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal Mehta and Taha Shah Badussha.

If both husband and wife working, progressive thinking men share the cooking load. However not sure how people from some of the larger backward states feel, where coincidentally atrocities against women are higher and so to women's non participation in literacy .Read allPost comment
