Mahesh Manjrekar's gangster drama will now have
Sonal Chauhan joining in the cast which has
Vidyut Jammwal and Shruti Haasan in lead roles. Vidyut and Shruti have already started shooting for the film in Goa and Sonal will be joining them this week. "It's an honour to be working with Mahesh sir. I'm a huge fan of his work and happy to be part of the project along with Vidyut and Shruti," Sonal said in a statement.
While Vidyut's character is an NRI, Shruti is a small-town girl who falls in love with him but their families are against the romance. The film which has a Devdas kind of feel to it will have Vidyut's character finding solace in the arms of Sonal's character which is that of an independent and educated girl. All the actors along with Manjrekar had to undergo intensive workshops before starting the shoot.
Produced by Vijay Galani and Pratik Galani, the film is scripted by Manjrekar and also features Naseeruddin Shah, Amol Palekar and Jishu Sengupta. Sonal, made her debut in Himesh Reshammiya’s album 'Aap Ka Suroor', and then went on to feature alongside Emraan Hashmi in 'Jannat'. She has six South Indian films to her credit in the last three years and has just wrapped up filming JP Dutta’s war film 'Paltan'.
