Sonam Bajwa recently shared a startling fan interaction, revealing how she was once told she was the reason behind a broken engagement.
Speaking on Famously Fit with Sophie, Sonam said, “There was this girl who walked towards me and she asked, ‘Are you Sonam Bajwa?’ I said yes, and she said, ‘I have to tell you something.’ She goes that because of me, her engagement broke. I said, ‘I don’t know if I should say I am so sorry to hear that,' but I was so stunned! Then she goes, ‘But I am very happy now and I am engaged to somebody else.’”
‘He wanted me to look like you’
The actress went on to reveal the reason behind the broken relationship, as shared by the fan.
“So she said, ‘I am super happy. I called off the engagement with that guy because he was obsessed with you and he wanted me to look like you. He wanted me to have a body like you. It was just a lot for me so I called off that engagement. But ab main jinke saath hoon woh mujhse bohot pyaar karte hain.’”
Sonam added that she reassured the fan, saying she was happy for her decision.
From modelling to stardom
Sonam Bajwa began her career as a model before stepping into films, gaining recognition after participating in Femina Miss India 2012. She made her acting debut with the Punjabi film Best Of Luck and rose to fame with Punjab 1984.
Over the years, she has become one of Punjabi cinema’s most popular stars with hits like Nikka Zaildar, Carry On Jatta 3 and Sardaar Ji. She has also appeared in Hindi projects like Street Dancer 3D and Karam Yuddh, along with Tamil and Telugu films. Recently, she was seen in Housefull 5 and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.Also See:
