Sonam Kapoor’s father-in-law invests in $27 million property in London, couple to move-in after redevelopment

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja are preparing to move into a new address in London. The couple currently resides at a swanky apartment in West London's Notting Hill. And the latest acquisition by the Ahuja family hints at grand plans in the future.

According to Bloomberg, in July this year, Sonam Kapoor's father-in-law, Harish Ahuja inked a deal worth £21 million ($27 million) for an eight-story residential convent in London’s Notting Hill district. The family reportedly plans to redevelop this place, part of which will be Sonam and Anand's sprawling new home while a separate section will be done up to house flats.

The report further mentioned that the property is spread across 20,000 square feet and it was previously owned by a UK-registered charity and religious order. The Ahuja family's newest acquisition is located just a short walk from Kensington Gardens. The current UK home of Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja boasts of artistic and luxurious interiors. It has been done up by Mumbai-based architect Rooshad Shroff.

Apart from these properties in UK, the Ahuja family also owns a palatial residence in India's capital, Delhi, where Sonam and Anand spent most of their lockdown days. According to ABP Live, the grand mansion is worth Rs 173 crore and is spread across 3170 square yards. Nestled on Prithviraj Road, this dreamy home serves as the base for Sonam and Anand during their visits to India.

On the work front, Sonam Kapoor was last seen in OTT movie 'Blind', which she had shot before her pregnancy. She is now gearing up for another grand project, details of which are being kept under wraps. While the actress remained tight-lipped about specific details, she hinted at the magnitude of the project. “I’m super excited to face the camera again post my pregnancy. I love being an actor and I love living so many interesting characters through my profession. Human beings fascinate me, and I love playing varied roles. I’m looking forward to my next. I will return to the sets early next year. Details of this project are currently getting locked, so I won’t be able to talk at length until the announcement is made. It’s a big project. That’s all I can say right now," Sonam had said in a statement.
