Sonu Sood helps Warrior Ajji start a martial arts school
It’s been a few weeks since
Confirming the same to us, Shanta shares, “Tyanni amhala hi prashala suru karun dili (Sonu Sood helped us start this training school). We are thankful for it. Till the time it is physically possible for me to do so, I will teach students my skills. I am happy to pass my knowledge to youngsters and am willing to do so till my last breath."
With the help that came her way over the last month, Shanta has managed to clear the loans she had taken to get her daughters married, and for other things. Ask her if this marks a new beginning and she replies, “Yes. We also had a small piece of land near Karad, our native place, where we are now planning to build a house for the family. We are in the process of clearing the paperwork now.”
The octogenarian also shares that it was her dream to make a name for herself through her talent and today, she has realised that dream. “I wanted to bring attention to the dombari khel and with all the love that I have received in the last few weeks, I think I have done that,” shares Shanta, who also made a few visits to television sets in the recent past.
With so much happening, Warrior Ajji, as she has come to be known, has her hands full right now. But what she wishes for more than anything else is a bright future for her grandkids. “I want them to study and make a name for themselves,” Shanta concludes.
On his part, Sonu Sood shares that this was the least he could do to help such a talented woman. “Her art and skill is something that should be passed on over generations. So, we got in touch with ajji and helped set up this training school. I spoke to her and a couple of students on a Zoom video call on Sunday and they were very happy. For me, the happiness on their faces is the best reward,” says Sonu.
Ask him if he is planning anything more for Shanta and he replies, "There are a few more things in the pipeline. Something bigger and better, and hopefully we will be able to do those soon. I would also want to travel to Pune and meet Shanta ajji whenever it is possible for me to do so. She is an inspiring woman.”
