Sonu Sood stands up for Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor amid 'Nadaaniyan' criticism: ‘Nobody was perfect...’

As 'Nadaaniyan', the debut film of Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, faces growing criticism, actor Sonu Sood has stepped forward to advocate for kindness towards newcomers in the industry. He stressed that the success or failure of a performance is not solely the responsibility of the debutants, but a shared responsibility among all involved in the project.

On Saturday, Sonu took to X (formerly Twitter) to urge the public to be kind and supportive towards newcomers in the film industry. He wrote, "Be kind to debutants in the film fraternity and elsewhere. Nobody was perfect when they started. We all learn with experience. Only a handful get a second chance." He stressed that every performance—good or bad—is a collective effort of the entire team. "We are all learners. Let’s support and encourage them," he added.


He concluded his message with a call to "spread love," accompanied by a heart emoji. Although he didn't directly reference 'Nadaaniyan' or its cast, his post was widely seen as a gentle response to the criticism the film has received.

'Nadaaniyan', marking the acting debut of Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, has received mixed reviews. The film's dialogues, co-written by Ishita Moitra and Jehan Handa, have been particularly criticized on social media. Despite its visually appealing aesthetic, 'Nadaaniyan' has been panned for its predictable plot, lackluster performances, and underdeveloped characters, making it a disappointing watch for many viewers.

Directed by Shauna Gautam, it features Khushi Kapoor, Jugal Hansraj, Dia Mirza, Suniel Shetty, and Mahima Chaudhary. The film follows Pia, who asks Arjun to pretend to be her boyfriend after a fight with friends. It's currently streaming on Netflix.
